Being in the present moment is extremely important for emotional well-being. Many people tend to live either in the past or in the future. And, due to this reason, they often become anxious. Fear of unknown or anxiety is a negative emotion that is mostly unfounded.
We will discuss how NLP can help you get rid of anxiety in the below mentioned steps.
Step 1: Think about an event that is making you very anxious.
Step 2: Imagine you are standing on an imaginary line with your left hand side indicating your past. The place where you presently are is your current place on Earth or your present. Towards your right is your future.
Step 3: Now imagine you are floating on this line towards the future say about half an hour away from the event that is making you anxious.
Step 4: Stay on this point for some time and ask yourself what exactly you learnt from this episode. After your learning is complete, float further down the timeline and look back the event that was making you anxious.
Step 5: Feel the relief flooding over you after the event is over. Experience the joy and happiness that you were able to successfully overcome the episode without getting hurt.
Step 6: If some anxiety still remains then think about the reasons why the fear is still there and if there is something that has to be done in your present moment to be able to face the future episode confidently.
Step 7: Once this exercise is done, gently float back to your present moment and feel the joy of being in that moment.
