However, anxiety is bad for health and if you are in a prolonged state of anxiousness it can impact your day to day work and efficiency at work place.
Controlling anxiety is simple and can be achieved with practice.
Here are few tips:
- Take deep breaths and focus on an object near you. It can be anything-a tea cup, a ball or even a book. Look at that object carefully and note each and every detail of the pattern on it. Close your eyes and try to imagine that object in your mind. You will begin to relax after the first time you do this but if it does not work you can try this two three times till you are feeling better and in control of your thoughts.
- Try reading a book really slowly. Spend at least few seconds on each and every word in order to slow your brain activity. Once your brain slows down you will feel calm inside and you can then focus on other important activities that were neglected due to your anxiousness.
- Counting also helps. Count very slowly from one to hundred. Focus on the numbers in the brain as you count them and do not think anything else but the activity you are currently engaged in.
- Take a book or a newspaper in your hand and count the number of words present in one page. By the time you reach the end of the first page you will feel significantly calm and less anxious about your current situation.
Life is meant to be lived in a calm and peaceful manner. If you know something triggers stress try to stay away from it and if avoiding is not possible manage your anxiety and live a balanced life in the best way possible.
