Feeling good about yourself is important to live a full and satisfying life. If you love yourself everything around you looks good, and your productivity increases. However, if you don’t think good about yourself even a slightest remark from your co-worker can irritate you or send you in a fit of frenzy.
Here are few ways to build self esteem:
- Think what is right about you– It is important for you to know what is right about you and you should keep a journal of all things good and wonderful about you. Think and write down things that are great about you, your achievements so far and what all milestones you crossed till now. By the time you have finished writing you will feel significantly better about yourself. Keep that list with you and read it whenever you are feeling low about yourself.
- Stay with people who appreciate you– We often tend to take those people for granted that like us and spend time in pleasing those who have passed harsh comments on our past acts or those who failed to remember our birthday. Understand that people who are nice to you are worth spending more time with and try to make out time for those who really like you for what you are.
- Focus on what you want – Instead of focusing on what you don’t want try to refocus your attention on what you want to do in your life. Once you have figured out what you want in your life you can work towards achieving your goals and spend less time in worrying what others think about you. If you can see your goal clearly you will be less wary of criticism and what others have to say about your life path.
- Self affirmations- Address your subconscious mind and each day tell yourself all wonderful things about yourself. If you keep telling yourself good things about your, very soon your subconscious mind will accept this new way of thinking and you will actually believe those affirmations. If you feel you become anxious easily, tell yourself each day how confident you are and within a week your confidence level will rise to an admirable level.
