George Bernard Shaw
It is human nature to forget bad episodes and forgive people who have hurt you in the past. It is also because it is good to live harmoniously with positive feelings of the nature, forget all the wrong that happened in the past and look forward towards the future with hope.
However, you must realize that it is you who have changed and not the world. It is you who decided not to smoke another cigarette again and not Al who will offer you one, when the next time both of you drive back home together in the car pool. So it is you who will be responsible for not repeating the same mistakes again and not damaging yourself in any manner.
Quitting a bad habit, making the same type of friends or falling into another bad habit are all behavioral characteristics and all of these can be changed or curbed by a simple decision. If someone has cheated you in the past it is good to forgive but make a mental note to be careful not to repeat the same mistake again.
If you have been sick smoking the cigarette and you know you cannot refuse if your boss offers you one at the office party –think and craft a good explanation for the time when he waves the cigarette box in front of you. Know yourself, your weaknesses, and stop yourself from falling into the same old self sabotaging habits that only bring bad stuff into your life.
Permanent good change can only happen when you don’t fall back into your old bad habits. After all what good it will do to you if you gain 5 pounds after spending 3 months in the gym to shed that flab? You took time out from your busy schedule, sacrificed going to birthday parties to look how you look now. But all this will go waste if you stop exercising regularly and start hitting the pizza joint each night after work.
Make your life better by introducing changes and keep it that way by not repeating the same mistakes again!
